Protester Goes Too Far

From CNN.com:
"Commentator and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan cut short an appearance after an opponent of his conservative views doused him with salad dressing. 'Stop the bigotry!' the demonstrator shouted as he hurled the liquid Thursday night during the program at Western Michigan University. The incident came just two days after another noted conservative, William Kristol, was struck by a pie during an appearance at a college in Indiana."
Dissent is one thing and I am all for freedom of speech. I advocate almost daily for the open exchange of opposing ideas. This, however, is stepping over the line. I don't care which side of any issue someone is on. The right to dissent does not cover physical contact of any kind. Buchanan refused to press assault charges and that, to me, shows he is the bigger person.
